ELT Day 2025 Celebrated with Academic Inspiration and Cultural Harmony at COMU

Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (COMU) Faculty of Education hosted a vibrant and engaging ELT Day on 09 May 2025, bringing together future educators, scholars, and special guests in a celebration of teaching, learning, and cultural exchange.

The event began at 14:00 in Hall ED-K1-07, B2 Block, with an enchanting Dombra performance by Baimen Assel, setting a warm and intercultural tone for the afternoon.

The highlight of the day was the Keynote Workshop delivered by Alissa, an English Language Fellow from the U.S. Embassy, who captivated the audience with her interactive and thought-provoking session titled “What’s Your Teaching Philosophy? & Everything I Need to Know About Teaching I Learned on a Farm.” Her reflections on experiential learning and pedagogical values inspired both faculty and students alike.

Following the keynote, Elif Şatır, an accomplished ELT graduate, took the stage to share her journey in the field of Preschool English Education. Her talk, “Exploring Yourself in the Profession and Preschool English Education,” offered insightful perspectives on personal growth, career development, and the challenges of early childhood language teaching.

The event, organized in collaboration with the Regional English Language Office, İŞKUR, and the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, successfully brought together academic content and cultural appreciation, strengthening the sense of community among teacher candidates.

As the day concluded, attendees left feeling enriched, inspired, and motivated to continue their journeys in English language teaching with renewed enthusiasm.
